PART 5. Animal Husbandry
Directions: Thank you for taking the time to complete this questionnaire. Please describe what your facility actually does, not what you think it should do. We want to understand what is happening in your shelter in order to be of most assistance. We have used the word “usually” in many of the questions because we know that exceptions can occur.
Please feel free to add comments at the end of this section of the survey where they help to clarify your answers or if you think certain questions do not address the situation in your shelter. When we visit, you will have an opportunity to clarify or add to answers as well.
Many of the answers provided are taken from what has been reported by other shelters. They are NOT necessarily strategies we recommend. We hope that you will feel comfortable interacting with us to help us develop a clear understanding of what your shelter is doing.
If there are written protocols that address some of the questions, you don’t need to fill out answers to those questions. Please just email or mail us your protocols. Also, please note that while some of the boxes requesting information look too small for some answers, you can just keep typing and more space will appear.
